Vivienne and Victoria–Volks SD 10 Tae II and Volks YoSD Lin

I’ve been putting off the writing of my master’s thesis for too long now.  Today I decided I had to sit down and read and take notes and was able to do so after walking the dogs, a brisk swim, and a short nap.  The problem is that all along, all I could think of is what kind of dress I should make for Vivienne next, and how I have to design a dress for a friend’s baby who is turning 1 in October.

I just want to sew!!

Anyways… I’ve been wanting to play with my dolls all day and I finally got around to it later tonight.  I took some pictures of Vivienne and V.  Lighting was not so good so that affected the quality of the pictures.  But they just look so cute together.

Enjoy ^^

I really gotta buy the rest of the flooring for better pictures.

Dear Vivienne, stunning as always.

Where’s Valentine?? Valentine is in hiatus until I get her a new wig!!  The one she wears is much too big for her head.  Hopefully I can change that soon so I can take a picture with all three of my girls.

**All clothes are by sweet p.

Mori Girl event–WIP04 and Vivienne’s new look.

Vivienne looked beautiful with her old wig:

I bought her a new wig and pair of shoes through a GO in Den of Angels, and… TADA!

I just love her, Tae II is such a stunning head mold. This hairdo and the color bring out her features !! And I just absolutely love the quality of the wig. It’s so soft and shiny.

Finally, Vivienne sporting the Mori Girl outfit I’ve been working on.

So pretty :3

Mori Girl event–WIP02

Finally!! I got to sew this weekend.  Although not as much as I would’ve liked–between the boyfriend, the season premiere of Breaking Bad, and my social “obligations” I was able to squeeze in about a couple of hours worth of sewing for the Mori Girl event. Not to mention that the deadline to complete the project is quickly approaching.

This is Vivienne’s dress.  I have used and edited the pattern I keep going back to from Adams-Harris Pattern Company.  I lengthened the blouse so that it would be more of a dress/tunic, shortened the sleeves, added a facing, and am hoping to successfully turn the turtle-neck collar into a shirt collar.  And this is exactly where I’m stuck.

I added the facing because I want to have a clean finish when I sew the collar on.  But I have yet to find out how this is going to turn out.  If you have any suggestions feel free to let me know!!

With Mori Girl project I have realized one more facet about sewing that I was unaware of as of yet because I was pretty much using other people’s patterns and following their construction instructions.  Granted I am using someone else’s pattern here, and due credit is given to Adam’s-Harris Co. for this beautiful blouse that I have made time-and-time-again, but when it comes to changing the pattern is when I started facing the fact that I haven’t the slightest idea about pattern construction.

Thus, I have realized that pattern-making and construction is all about problem solving!!  I am going to start looking for sewing classes around me, or a seamstress mentor at the least who can help me with minor problems like these.  Fortunately I am a fast learner 🙂

Mori Girl event on DoA!

I decided to join a sewing event on DoA! Everyone has created such cute outfits for the first round and I really wanted to join in as this is a group of BJD lovers who are also into sewing clothes for their BJDs. The theme for this second round is Mori Girl. I want to sew a cute dress, so I went pinterest-crazy and downloaded all these cute pictures for ideas on what to work on.

Kawaii!! My princesses ♚ would totally rock the Mori Girl style!

Vivienne is finally wearing the semi-completed outfit from the previous post !!

Saving for Vera

After a six-year hiatus during which Valentine was my one and only BJD, I decided I was going to bring home an SD10 Volks Anais/Tae.  Thanks to a generous income tax return I was able to welcome Vivienne home on February 2012 (she was also a birthday present to myself).

She’s stinking gorgeous!  Even more stunning than she looks in pictures I must say.

Because I spent so much money on Vivienne and I have yet to customize her–she’s still wearing the kimono she came with and her original wig–I wasn’t really interested on buying a new BJD, although I have plans for at least three more… Victoria, Vera, and Stella.

Surfing the web the other day, I ran into CrobiDoll’s Berry and I just decided that Vera needs to come home too.  I decided not to get Berry, however, as I don’t really like her mold or the size of her head, and decided instead on Fairy Land’s PukiFee Mio or Latidoll Lumi.

Decisions, decisions!!

What do you think?  PukiFee Mio or Latidoll Lumi?
